Identification Document (Cedula) 

CEDULA RENEWAL

Observations: Panamanians living abroad who at some time have carried a personal Panamanian identity card, whether they are older or under age, may renew or process a duplicate through the Consulates.

In case the person has processed a Panamian youth identity card, and has reached the age of majority, he or she must request the first majority id card in national territory.

The cedula has to be renewed personally at the Consulate of Panama in Washington, D.C.

Steps to follow:

If it is renovation:

1) Bring the EXPIRED personal identity card; if you do not have it, you can bring your passport or some other personal identification document.

2) ONLY form of payment, through (2) Money Orders of WESTERN UNION or MONEY GRAM:

The cost is $ 120.00 which must be distributed as follows:

• A first Money Order for $ 50.00, made out to: ELECTORAL COURT- RESERVE FUND.

• A second Money Order for $ 70.00, made out to: CONSULADO DE PANAMA.

 

If it is duplicated due to loss or theft:

1) Bring passport or other personal identification document.

2) ONLY form of payment, through (2) Money Orders of WESTERN UNION or MONEY GRAM:

The cost is $ 120.00 which must be distributed as follows:

• A first Money Order for $ 50.00, made out to: ELECTORAL TRIBUNAL OF PANAMA.

• A second Money Order for $ 70.00, made out to: CONSULATE OF PANAMA.
