, 2015

From December 1 to 4, 2016, Panama will host the 13th International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC), the most important conference on transparency issues globally. Panama is the third country in the region to host this event, after Brazil and Guatemala. With the support of the Office of  the Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs,  Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado, the IACC will be organized by the National Authority of Transparency and Access to Information (ANTAI), in conjunction with the IACC Council, Transparency International and the Foundation Development of Civic Freedom.

"It is an honor to have been chosen to host this global event. This recognizes Panama's efforts in such a sensitive and significant matter," said Vice President de Saint Malo de Alvarado, adding that it is an opportunity for Panama to project itself before the world.

In the upcoming months, the organizers will work hand in hand on creating a robust agenda for the event, which is expected to host around two thousand people from over 130 countries from both the public and private sectors, and the civil society. This forum, in addition to working on international initiatives regarding transparency and fighting corruption, will also be propitious to present Panama’s progress on transparency and access to information, with programs like "Panama Transparent", one of a kind in the Americas; in addition to the initiatives regarding transparency and thoroughness within the financial system of Panama.
