Foreign companies interested in carrying out their operations from Panama will be able to take advantage not only of a strategic geographical position, but also of a country that has implemented an aggressive policy of facilitating the greatest possible access to regional and international markets.
Panama has signed trade agreements with Chile, Singapore, Taiwan, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Recently, Panama finalized free trade agreements with Canada and the European Union and, at this very moment, the government of Panama is negotiating a free trade agreement with Colombia.
Panama is a beneficiary of the Caribbean Basin Initiative (CBI), which allows duty-free access of most Panamanian products into the United States of America.
