Those companies interested in carrying out their operations from Panama, will be able to take advantage not only of a strategic geographical position, but also of a country that has implemented an aggressive policy of facilitating the greatest possible access to regional and international markets.
Panama is a beneficiary of the Caribbean Basin Initiative (CBI), which allows duty free access of most Panamanian products into the United States of America.
At this very moment, we are negotiating free trade agreements with the United States and Chile. Recently, Panama signed free trade agreements with El Salvador, Taiwan and Singapore.
We are also participating very actively in the hemispheric negotiations to create the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), and for which Panama aspires to become the permanent home of the FTAA headquarters.
