Consular Services

Thank you for your interest in visiting Panama!

Please read the following information carefully, as it may help you save time and money when you require Consular assistance for your next trip or to complete important documentation. This website is updated on a regular basis, so make sure to check back for any changes that may currently be applicable.

Please note: Starting on August 26th, 2008 a new set of immigration rules entered into effect under the new Immigration Law approved under Law No.3 of February 22nd, 2008, and regulated by Decree No. 320, of August 8th, 2008. The law establishes new requirements for tourist and migrant visa categories, introduces new visa classes and increases the processing costs for most categories of immigration status, including non-residents, temporary residents and permanent residents. Please refer to this website often, as it will be updated frequently with new information. If you have specific questions with respect to your application, please send us an email to consular@embassyofpanama.org.

Consular Information and Processing

If you are applying for a visa or sending documents by mail, we recommend you use Express Mail, Priority Mail or a Courier for security purposes. Please include a self-addressed prepaid envelope for the return of your documents. Please include your telephone number and email address where you can be reached in case you need to be contacted for additional information. If your documents are incomplete for any reason, they may be sent back to you.

If you are using a prepaid courier service, your name and address must appear as the Sender and Recipient. The Consulate of Panama should not appear on the waybill. PLEASE NOTE: All fees must be paid by money order or certified check made out to The Consulate of Panama. We do not accept personal checks. Cash will only be accepted if applying in person.

All documents should be sent to the following address:

CONSULADO DE PANAMA
2862 McGILL TERRACE, N.W.
WASHINGTON, D.C. 20008

We understand your desire to communicate with us about your application. However, we aim to spend the maximum amount of time actually processing your application rather than answering queries about its progress.

For this reason, we ask you to limit your contact with us to where:

• We have asked you to contact us.
• You want to clarify a request for further information from us.
• There has been a significant change in your circumstances that affects the processing of your application.

If you are applying in person, we attend on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you have specific questions, send us an email at consular@embassyofpanama.org or check the website http://www.embassyofpanama.org under Consular Services for more information and office hours.
