Ambassador Gonzalez-Revilla participates in the welcoming ceremony of the MOL Benefactor at the Port of Virginia. The MOL Benefactor is the first Neo-Panamax ship to transit the expanded Panama Canal and the largest container ship to arrive at the Port of Virginia. The cost of the transit was $837,000. According to Ambassador Gonzalez-Revilla, the MOL benefactor represents a new era of world commerce, especially in the United States now that larger container ships that transit the Panama Canal in between Asia and the east coast of the United States reduce the cost of transporting merchandise.
